Exciting Few Weeks Ahead

Also I have shoots in St Albans (event photography), London (IT Products), Basingstoke and Oxford (Corporate Portraits).
I have a very big networking event this Wednesday at BNI Phoenix in Basingstoke, I will also be attending an Opendoorz networking session in Oxford.

Three great meetings yesterday. A happy corporate client with promise of more work very shortly. A successful meeting with a wedding couple who signed me up for their wedding in June and a very interesting meeting, that for now I can't talk about....don't you just hate it when people tease you like that!

Out with the Epson in with the Canon

Today I chucked out my Epson printer fed up with banding it was knackered. Got a lovely new Canon whirling away now it is Fab!

Portraits Galore!

It seems to be the season for portraits. I have traveled to Birmingham, Oxford, London, Northampton and Basingstoke in the last few weeks shooting portraits for company websites mainly.
I also did a two day lifestyle shoot for Fujitsu in London and Oxford showing a mobile scanner in use whilst on the move, that entailed shooting in trains, planes and automobiles!

On my travels again

Here we go again bag packed ready to shoot....Next week I am off to Jersey for a three day shoot for a beautiful hotel over there.
I will be shooting the rooms, food and lifestyle shots. In addition there will be some 360 virtual tours to shoot as well.

It's been a busy month. Shooting on The Isle of wight, Birmingham, Oxford, Basingstoke, and London. I have photographed life style shots for a property brochure, Corporate portraits for pr and web and product shots for spec sheets and a couple of 360 virtual tours for a hotel. I also squeezed in a large wedding with 200 guests! Another month like that in November please!

This coming week completing stitching four 360 Virtual Tours for an Inn in cornwall. Shooting for a large firm of Solicitors in Birmingham and shooting a large wedding on Sunday. Also this is the first week I am Chapter Director of Phoenix BNI - a Fantastic Business Networking Group in Basingstoke.

Busy week

Started the week shooting Exteriors for a large IT company in London. I had been waiting for blue skies for ages so it was good to get a beautiful day. Also been shooting corporate portraits in Oxford, today I am covering a wedding in Reading...another sunny day ...yeah! Tomorrow I am shooting products for a new corporate client in Basingstoke.

Winter Wonderland Wedding Ball

I am busy helping organise The Winter Wonderland Wedding Ball. I got involved with this as one of my clients has a 1 year old daughter who suffers with Spina Bifida and all proceeds from this ball are going to that charity. The Ball will be held at The Apollo Hotel in Basingstoke on 13/11/10 arrival for 7.30pm. There will be drinks on arrival 3 course meal, a band and DJ afterwards and a great night will be had. The theme for the evening is weddings so dust of your wedding dress and your suits for a stunning glamorous evening in aid of a great cause. New home and office

I have moved into a delightful cottage in Lambourn in Berkshire known as Valley of The Racehorse. It has been a busy week shooting for a training company, 4 makeovers and some corporate portraits. Now looking forward to a hot weekend.

plane pain

For the past three weeks I have had to cancel a photoshoot that entailed shooting planes. Each week we have booked out what looked like the best day weather wise only to find come the day we didn't get the perfect blue sky we wanted. So now into next week hoping for the perfect day. We are lucky because we can wait, there is no mad urgency for the images but it would be lovely to get the shots in the bag. In the meantime I have a wedding to shoot this weekend regardless of the weather. Also some offices in London and a hotel in the west country to shoot so a mixed bag which I love!
Sally my Spaniel is booked into vets next week for scan to confirm she is with litter.... exciting times ahead. see samples of my corporate photography.

Beware - Car Park signs

What a day last Thursday was. I was up at 6am to get into London early for a location shoot around Wandsworth. It was a fab day and I captured some great images for the client. Then a mad dash to Camden for a seminar I wanted to attend on a piece of imaging software. It was being held at the Holiday Inn who very kindly directed me to a car park I could use. Sat through a very useful seminar came out at 10pm absolutely shattered after a long day, went to the car park only to find it shuttered and closed with my cay inside! There was a small sign outside stating that it was open 7am - 8pm so my fault. Ended up in a grotty B&B for the night with sirens ringing in my ears.
On a more positive note, I think my bitch is pregnant....that is my English Springer Spaniel bitch...watch this space.

Done the business

So my English Springer Spaniel has enjoyed herself with Charlie Dog another English Springer so now we wait and see...well just to make sure he is coming here again tonight to visit!
On the work front it is busy, shooting IT product in London yesterday, portraits in Basingstoke today and lifestyle shoot for a London Estate Agents tomorrow.

A dirty weekend

My English Spaniel Bitch called Sally is in season and going away for a dirty weekend. She is going to stay with Charlie Dog who we hope is going to do the business! Both dogs are real characters and great fun. This will be Sally's first and last litter, we are all excited this end although also very nervous as we have never bred dogs before so going into the unknown...any advice is welcome.
In the meantime I have a couple of meetings today and makeovers to shoot tomorrow, then into a very busy week next week shooting medical and IT products in Oxford and London, corporate portraits in London and architecture also in London. I love it it when I am chasing my tail all over the place!

Found Woodchester Park

Had a great weekend. I visited my parents in the Cotswolds. Whilst there I went to Woodchester Park near Nailsworth. Wow! I lived within a couple of miles of this place for 15 years but never visited it before now. What an idiot I am, it is a stunning park with lakes and a haunted Manor House built in a gothic style and never completed. Now owned by the national trust. I will be returning!

Today I had two portrait sessions, I used my new Canon 5Dmkii for the first time. OMG its fab! Great quality. Also had a meeting with a printer and prepped for a BNI networking event in the morning.

My new best friend

It has been a week of getting to know my new best friend...yeah you guessed it my new camera..ahhh. I had a network meeting on Wednesday at BNI Basingstoke this group is really working for each other it is great to be a part of it. I have also picked up two new clients this week so all in all very satisfying. On the personal side I am shooting a music video for my daughter Lucy she is 16 and has a fab voice. We shot a few bits last night but the main shoot is in London next week...she is very excited, we will post it on you tube once done for all to see.

New camera!

Ok forgive me for being a bit geekee but i have just ordered a new camera...very excited. For the last few years I have been using Canon 5D and love it. I have seen some of my images blown up to 16 x 12 feet and they look great! But now have ordered the Canon 5D mark ii. Looking forward to getting to know it.
Thankfully this week was a little slower that enabled me to process through the computer all the work from last week. Next week I am shooting products in Oxford and corporate portraits in London.

Focus

I went to the Focus show at the NEC today. I invested in some new software to help on the image retouching side and got loads of info on papers, printers and cameras. The place was heaving. I had a courtesy car today as mine was being serviced. It was a spanking new Audi A3 convertible. It had this stop start technology...whenever you are stopped at lights and put the car in neutral it cuts the engine then when you engage first gear it starts up on its own! The novelty soon wears off and it just became annoying, but hey I suppose it must save fuel. Tomorrow I am shooting corporate portraits in Oxford.

Busy Week

Had a fantastic week. Early in the week I was shooting bedrooms for a hotel in Oxfordshire, then onto product photography for a large IT company in London, then I had the pleasure of shooting a wedding at Aldermaston Manor in Hampshire on Friday. Today I am shooting Makeovers in Basingstoke, together with my team at The Hair Studio we make ladies look gorgeous then capture some stunning images.
So that was my week. Next week I am shooting Corporate Portraits in Oxford, 360 virtual tours for a Health Spa in Oxfordshire and Product Photography for a Buckinghamshire company.

European shoot complete!

What a month!! I have shot in Spain, Italy, Austria, Poland, Finland and Sweden and not to mention my UK assignments. I worked in the lovely temperatures of +20c in spain to the freezing -16c in Sweden, goodness knows what the temperature was once you took into account the wind chill factor. All I can say is I have never experienced cold like it! I can't tell you too much about it because I signed a non disclosure contract. It was challenging and hard work and after a month of travelling I am glad to be home...for a few weeks at least. In the coming week I am shooting for a Hotel, Product shots for a large IT company and some portraits.

-12 wow that was cold!

Last week I was shooting in Finland. Standing outside all day in -12 temperatures....very cold and I came home with a cold. I was pleased to land at Gatwick to balmy 1degrees T shirt and shorts weather compared to where I had been!
This week here in the UK I am shooting Portraits today, and product shots for a cookware company on Thursday. I also have to process all the work from Finland through my mac so a busy week.

Superman

Last Sunday I was at Gatwick on a bus to the Terminal when it did an emergency stop to avoid a car. Suddenly i was flying through the air like Superman. Unlike him though I came crashing down on the front of the bus. Winded and very bruised! But hey life goes on. It has been a very busy week shooting portraits and products. Next trip

OK i'm all packed and ready to fly out to Spain tomorrow ready to shoot on Monday and Tuesday in Malaga then flying onto Milan for a shoot on Wednesday then all being well flying home that night.

At last good weather in Belgium and Holland allowed me to complete the shoot in those two countries, though i have to say it was Very Cold working in -5 temperatures all day Tuesday! It was so cold I dropped a lens aaagghh- thankfully insured and all sorted today, new lens on the way. Next Monday of to the warmer climate in Spain for a shoot so no need for my thermals there!

Busy Week

What a week...started in Holland on Monday and Belgium on Tuesday, It looked good first thing Monday but very quickly fog rolled in and scuppered both days! Then back to the UK and photo shoot for large Hotel / Spa in Oxfordshire. I produced six 360 virtual tours and a lot of stills for them. Then onto Friday and into London to shoot corporate portraits. A Sad Day

Today I am of to say goodbye to a great lady - Gladys Nelly Pyne ( you don't get names like that anymore) aged 97. She is my Grandmother who is to be laid to rest today. A wonderful woman with a huge heart and a ready smile. When I last saw her just before New Year she was in good spirits laughing and joking, she even sang a song from days long ago. So a wonderful memory to be left with.

More Snow

Sick to the back teeth with this snow. Tried to leave my village this morning at 6am, there is a small hill and cars were stuck on it! So going nowhere. I am changing cars in September....I feel a 4x4 is my next vehicle.

Had a great shoot on Saturday with Soul singer Natasha Watts in the studio. I have been working some of the images today on the computer and rescheduling all the work from last week that got postponed due to the white stuff!

So end of the first week of January...Tuesday job postponed due to client having Swine Flu. Wednesday I was supposed to be traveling to Belgium for photo shoot but was snowed in. Thursday shoot postponed due to client not being able to make shoot due to snow. Friday.. next weeks shoot on Monday and Tuesday postponed due to snow forecast. So the challenge now is to fit all that work into an already busy January! But it will be done.
